Toddlers are my favorite! I know that’s an unpopular opinion in our “terrible twos” dreading culture, but I love them.
Don’t get me wrong, toddlers have tested and stressed and exhausted me to no end over my years as a teacher and parent of twins, but still – it is my favorite age.
Toddlers are just so sweet, curious, opinionated, independent…oh they’re just so much fun.
Engage your toddler with one of the awesome activities below to encourage development and have fun. Building play skills with toddlers can be hard work, but it is also tons of fun.

You know those days when you’re at home and it’s icky outside and your toddlers are jumping off the couches and you just need an idea – any idea?
This is for you.
I believe firmly in learning that is inspired by the interests of my kids. Toddlers may seem quick to run from thing to thing but they are interested in broad themes and in the skills they are developing and if you choose activities that build on these interests they will be engaged much longer.

I divided these ideas for toddlers into broad themes so you can hopefully find something to fit where your child is now quickly.
Sensory Activities
Like babies, toddlers are still very much in a sensory stage. Two year olds are still touching and hearing and yes, tasting, everything around them with great intensity. A lot of the activities for all of the themes below involve sensory play, but here are some of our favorite activities that engage the senses.
